Dear Pale Blue Dot,
Is the Universe aware
of your existence?
Did They tuck
Their precious living secret in a
Milky pearly pocket
and ask one of Their suns to
keep watch
keep you warm
out of harm’s Way?
With your rocky partner
you swirl and dance
Held captive and captivated by
a yellow dwarf star’s radiance
Does the Universe ever gravitate
entranced by your circadian tango?
And here’s man
blasting holes through the sky blue canvas
resisting gravity to colonize all the dimensions
and still yet to find
another Dot like you
And here’s man
traveling far and wide
in search of solving life’s complexities
unaware that he is the very
embodiment of complexity
Complex cities
buzzing with emotions
packed and condensed
living energy plants teeming on the
surface of this
Pale Blue Dot
Where else across the Universe feels
as we do?
Why suppress and shut down
all the things that make us Blue?
Numbing ourselves to death
while scouring 15,000,000,000 miles (and counting)
for signs of life
See the Universe through us
our eyes rolling pocket-sized planets
our hands spinning galaxies
our bodies swirling with stardust
our spirits black holes of desires to be seen
Maybe just maybe
we were made for
the Universe to see us too
Dear Pale Blue Dot
Is it really possible that there is
only one you?
If this is true
mustn’t the Universe be
mindful of you?
Gosh I feel this—such a beautiful poem too!
This is gorgeous, June! 🤍🤍
